Andy Pritchard was born in Oakville, ON and started his hockey career there. He competed at a high level of play with the Oakville Blades for three years. In 1987, Pritchard enrolled in St. Lawrence University, and attended there in the fall. In the 1990/91 season, he was part of the NCAA (ECAC) First All-Star Team.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Diploma, Pritchard played 2 games with the Rochester Americans in the AHL (Buffalo Sabres affiliate) in the 1991/92 season.

The beginning of the 1996/97 season saw the forward overseas in Germany. Pritchard had an impressive pro career in Germany. Playing for six teams in three divisions over nine seasons, he racked up over 760 points in regular and playoff performance. Six times Pritchard’s team made it to the playoffs. Pritchard met and married German born Christine, an Interior Designer. He remained in Germany until his retirement at the end of the 2001/02 season. The couple relocated back to Thornbury, Ontario, had three children and purchased Pipers Restaurant, turning it into a sports bar.

After coaching competitive teams in Oakville, Pritchard was named Head Coach of the Bantam A Owen Sound Girls Hockey team in April, 2013. In 2014/15, he was assistant coach for the Bantam Rep team in the Collingwood Minor Hockey Association.
