ORHC Goalie Development Program

Local Training and Resources

Hockey Canada Certification for our Goalie Coaches
Starting this season, we are requiring all rep teams to have a goalie coach. Earlier this month the ORHC hosted OMHA Instructors and 25 of our Goalie Coaches at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex, where the coaches all earned their Level 1 Hockey Canada NCCP Goalie Coaching Certification. We will be offering a Level 2 class in the spring of 2024.

Mentoring for our Goalie Coaches
We are pleased to announce that Jon Elkin will mentor our goalie coaches this coming season. Many hockey families will know Jon through his leading goalie school program found at https://elkingoaltending.com/. Jon has accepted a new role with the Pittsburgh Penguins but will be available to our coaches on a monthly Zoom call starting in October.

Free Weekly Goalie Development Sessions for All ORHC Goalies!
We are thrilled to announce that ORHC House League Goalies will continue to receive free weekly Goalie Development Session delivered by Dylan Ellis. In addition, new this season, the Oakville Blades have also offered to help our goalies! They are available to attend practices (Rep or HL) on Monday or Tuesday evenings, and they will also be offering a free Goalie Development Session for ORHC Rep Goalies on Sunday mornings. Please visit the ORHC Goalie Community Resources page for more information.

Need help with your Goalie Equipment?
It is important that goalies have the right equipment, properly fitted. Craig Milner is the Goalie Department Manager at Duke's Source for Sports in Etobicoke, and will gladly answer any questions you may have about your goalie's gear. Craig and his team can be reached at [email protected].
