Oakville Jr Mustangs Triumph in Bradford
The Oakville Jr Mustangs Minor Peewee Red House League team were the big winners at the recent Bradford Blue and Gold MD Tournament held this past weekend. The house league team went undefeated in round robin play against Select teams from Brampton, Burlington and Caledon.
After a 3-3 tie with the Calendon Hawks in the first game, the Jr. Mustangs went on to beat the Burlington Bulldogs 3-2, and finished with a 4-3 win over the Brampton 45's.
The Championship game was a rematch against Caledon, and the Jr. Mustangs battled. After being down 1-0 in the first period, they gained the advantage near the end of the third period, with an empty net goal securing the victory with a 3-1 win, and the Championship!
The Jr. Mustangs players are Brody, Nicholas, Thomas, Anderson, Connor P, Nick, Ethan, Fraser, Alexander, Connor L, Daniel, Reagan, William, Owen and Matt. Hunter is their goalie.
The team is coached by Kevin Lindegaard, Assistant Coach is Eric Zvaniga, Trainer is Gavin Purchase and Nelson Reipas does double duty as Assistant Trainer and Admin Manager.
