Monkey off the Back
The Ice Dogs finally got the monkey off their backs and played a solid offensive game vs the team that has had their number all season.
The Ice Dogs have had immense trouble scoring goals vs this team all season long. The boys knew this would have to change for the playoffs. The team went out with the intention of applying pressure in the offensive zone.
The team started a bit slow but with the line of Mark, Robbie, and kiernan providing the early and consistent spark, the rest of the lines caught fire. The defence was once again solid in protecting the slot and keeping the puck in the opposition zone. The goalie was perfect when called upon as well while the forwards were relentless in their puck pursuit in the opposition end.
The boys are off to Schomberg for Family Day. They are participating in a one day tournament. We will use this opportunity to try a couple of things in preparation for our final two round robin playoff games. They boys are exited about this tournament as well as their position in the playoff standings.
