Exam week did not stop the Jets from attending nor
did it weaken their play.
Right from the get go saw the Jets keep the puck deep in the Sabres zone. Foss and Jedryk put the Jets on the scoreboard at 9:21 just 39 seconds into the game. The Jet’s eagerness started in the dressing room as most were dressed and ready before the zamboni finished - a rarity!
A potential Sabres goal was waved off just two minutes later. This was a wake up call for the Jets to stop gloating and get down to serious hockey. But the Sabres went on attack and tied it up at 5:02 in the first as the Jets got caught on a shift change. Ferrari would not settle for mediocre play as he popped in a wrist shot one minute later with Jedryk and Watson helping out. Blake with one minute left in the first had the Jets up 3 to 1 assisted by calm, cool, and collective Ribeiro.
With nearly a full complement of players (we were only missing one player compared to the dismal turn out from some teams) the third period belonged to the Jets, but more precisely, it turned out to be Nott’s period. He scored two goals in one shift with Rasquin and Watson helping make it happen.
